Rolands
room is a large and beautifully appointed south facing
double bedroom with quite a unique ensuite bathroom.
The antique mahogany enclosed bath is deep enough to require
steps to mount it, beckoning a good long soak after a hard days
work or play. |

Rolands room is so called
after Roland De Solage, a French Marquis who first came to Ballyvolane
in the early eighties when it was still predominantly a working
farm.
Roland, a devoted fisherman of impeccable taste and style, always
insisted on staying in this room on the grounds that it had
the finest aspect of the gardens. Returning to Ballyvolane for
almost 4 months of each of the last 10 years of his life, Roland
was more than the 'old Major' of Ballyvolane, he became part
of the family. |
